Taskieo, Inc. (“Taskieo”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the Taskieo platform, which connects customers with independent service providers (“Taskers”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Name and email address when you create an account
• Profile information (bio, profile photo)
• Service addresses you save to your account
• Payment method details (processed by our payment processor — we do not store raw card numbers)
• Photos you upload to describe a task
• Messages you send through the platform
• Reviews and ratings you submit

Information collected automatically

• Location: If you grant permission, we collect your device location to match you with nearby Taskers and to show Taskers tasks within their work area. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.
• Device type, browser, and operating system
• Pages visited, features used, and interaction timestamps
• IP address

Notifications and camera

• Push notifications: We request notification permission to send you booking status updates (e.g., “Your Tasker has arrived”, “Task completed”). You can manage this in your device settings or the Account section of the app.
• Camera / photo library: We request camera access so you can attach photos to describe your task more accurately. Photos help improve your price estimate.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To match customers with nearby available Taskers
• To process payments and maintain earnings records for Taskers
• To deliver push notifications and in-app alerts about your bookings
• To enable messaging between customers and Taskers
• To display public Tasker profiles, including reviews from completed bookings
• To improve our platform and troubleshoot issues
• To send transactional emails (booking confirmations, receipts)
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. How We Share Your Information

• Between customers and Taskers: When a task is matched, the Tasker sees your service address and task description. Customers see the Tasker's name, profile photo, rating, and completed-task count.
• Service providers: We use third-party services for authentication (Supabase), analytics (Vercel Analytics), payment processing (Stripe), and push notifications (OneSignal). These providers process data only on our behalf.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 6). Payment records may be retained for the period required by applicable tax and financial regulations.

5. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), server-side authentication, and row-level database access controls. No system is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

6. Your Rights and Choices

• Access and correction: You can view and update your profile information in the Account section of the app.
• Account deletion: You can request deletion of your account by contacting us at privacy@taskieo.com. We will process your request within 30 days.
• Location: You can revoke location permission in your device settings at any time. Revoking location may affect Tasker matching quality.
• Notifications: You can turn off push notifications in your device settings or in the app's Account → Notifications section.
• Marketing emails: You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email we send.

7. Cookies and Analytics

We use essential cookies required for authentication and platform functionality. We also use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to improve the platform. Vercel Analytics does not use cookies and does not track individuals across websites.

8. Children

Taskieo is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email or in-app notification at least 7 days before significant changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes your acceptance.
